Versatile Champion Cedarwoods Tukazoe
VC Cedarwoods Tukazoe, aka Kupr, shared the home of Dianne and Bob Marsh from Wisconsin for fourteen years. A product of Cedarwoods First Offense (Tukr) and Prairie Trout’s Calendar Girl (Zoey), Kupr had a phenomenal NAVHDA testing career. He scored a 110 Prize I in Natural Ability at 10 months of age. Only a small deduction at the pheasant track prevented a maximum score. At just over 2.5 years of age Kupr really made a mark by scoring 202 points and a Prize I in his Utility Test. Once again, Kupr received only one small deduction, this time in steadiness by blind. In 2010, at only three years of age Kupr put the crowning achievement on his testing career by leaving absolutely no points behind when he scored the maximum 200 points in the NAVHDA Invitational!
Aside from being a phenomenal field dog, Kupr, would be utilized by multiple kennels as a stud dog. Despite relatively limited use, Kupr’s offspring ran a total of ten NAVHDA sanctioned Utility Tests. The average for those ten tests was a phenomenal 186 point! In hindsight, this should be no surprise. Kupr’s pedigree shows 11 of the 14 dogs on the pedigree as having participated in a NAVHDA Utility Test with their average score being 185!
When we spoke with Dianne and Bob about what they recall most fondly about Kupr they did not point to any of the accomplishments to which you might find listed on a pedigree. Nor did they point to any of his adventures hunting the woods of Wisconsin. Instead they focused on Kupr’s temperament and demeanor at home. Dianne reports that Kupr’s finest moments came as a babysitter to eleven grandchildren whom he would patiently let climb all over him, and as they grew up, entertain them by tirelessly playing fetch with them.
As is always the case, a dog such as Kupr, is the product of the genetics found within their pedigree, coupled with proper training.
